Healthcare leaders across the spectrum were honored at UHA's Annual Awards Dinner for 2023, taking place at The Homestead Resort last month.
Four facilities were recognized by DonorConnect for their work in promoting and supporting organ donation efforts in Utah: McKay-Dee Hospital, Primary Children's Hospital, University of Utah Hospital and Intermountain Medical Center.
The Utah Organization of Nurse Leaders (UONL) presented its annual nursing leadership awards to the following individuals:
- Perry Gee, Nurse Researcher Award
- Katreena Merrill, Exemplary Leader Award
- Jen Wagenaar, Legacy Leadership Award
Utah Healthcare Executives, the local chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives, presented its 2023 awards to the following:
- Jennifer Baker, Early Career Healthcare Executive Award
- Amy Christensen, Senior Level Healthcare Executive Award
UHA's Trustee Service Award for 2023 was presented to Lynn Stevens, a trustee at Blue Mountain Hospital in Blanding. Lynn was recognized for his diligent efforts to bring hospital services to Blanding, resulting in the opening of Blue Mountain in 2009. He has served on the hospital board since 2014 and is a past board chair. Lynn's award video can be viewed here.
UHA presented its 2023 Distinguished Healthcare Executive Award to Greg Angle, President/CEO of MountainStar Healthcare. Greg was honored for his leadership of HCA's Mountain Division over the past 10 years and successfully navigating the system through the challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic. Utah State Senator Evan Vickers was honored with the UHA Distinguished Service to Healthcare Award for his support of Utah hospitals during the course of his legislative career. Senator Vickers has also served as a hospital system trustee. Evan's award video can be viewed here.
